Career Specialist and Athletic Director

I am Lynn Bouknight and I  am a proud product of Lexington School District Two.  I attended Pineview Elementary, Northside Middle and Brookland - Cayce High School.  After receiving a BS in Early Childhood at Winthrop College, now  Winthrop University, I worked in the math Dept. at Brookland - Cayce HS for 6 years.  I left education and went to work at Michelin Tire for 12.5 years before returning to Lexington Two to take a job at Pine Ridge Middle School as Athletic Director and Teaching Assistant.  In 2016, I received my certification as a Global Career Development Facilitator. I am now  the Career Specialist at Pine Ridge.  I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and going camping every chance I can.

The SC Education and Economic Development Act (EEDA) of 2005 was designed to give South Carolina students the educational tools they need to build prosperous, successful futures.

The implementation of this law created a new vision for how students would plan for their futures.  The concept of planning ahead is at the core of the EEDA legislation.  The goal is to connect academic studies with the world of work.  Career goals of middle school students tend to be more realistic than those of elementary students and begin to reflect values and skills as well as interests.  The expected outcome is for students to transition smoothly from middle school to high school and then to post secondary education and/or the workplace.
