CIS Smart Girls Program - Girls that are a part of the CIS program at PRMS are members of the Smart Girls Program. Participants meet every Monday during STING in the library. Interns from USC and Benedict implement this evidence based life skills program that addresses positive self image, media marketing, healthy eating, dynamics of changing relationships in middle school, healthy body self image and girls etiquette. Participants will have a better understanding of what it takes to be healthy inside and out.
 

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA- Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a faith based group open to any student who has a desire to learn about or to help others learn about Jesus. We meet every Wednesday in the Chorus room from 7:30-7:55. Staff, teachers and students are all welcome and encouraged to come check it out!

The Golden News 8th grade creative writing students will be exploring the world of journalism through our new online news site at The Golden News.
 
Jammin' Jackets Choral Group - Jammin' Jackets is an elite group of singers who enjoy performing and learning everything they can about choir. These students are chosen through an audition and interview process. Jammin' Jackets isn't all about being a great singer, but rather it is about dedication, heart, and giving G.O.L.D!
 
Rise Above It  - Rise Above It is a club made up of students who have a desire to help promote a drug free lifestyle among their peers. It meets twice a month on Sting Plus Wednesdays in Mrs. Pipkin's room. Any student is welcome to talk to Mrs. Pipkin about taking part in this club and to get the dates of future meetings.
 
Royal Knights Chess Club - Meets every Wednesday from 8:05-8:50 am. Students must be passing all core classes with a 70 or greater to be in chess club. Mr. Drew Plyer is our certified chess instructor and has worked with students for 10 years teaching chess in the Midlands and Greenville area. Students interested in joining should attend the informational meeting at the beginning of the year. 

Student Government - Pine Ridge Middle School student council is a governing body comprised of 3-4 representatives from each grade level. Students are exposed to an extensive interview process, election and recommendations from their peers and teachers. The council is also a Palmetto Member of the South Carolina Association of Student Councils where we attend a leadership camp, multiple conferences and district rallies throughout the state. Our student council participates in many team building activities, pep rallies, community events and Gold Rush.
 
Yearbook Staff - Yearbook is designed for students in grades 7 and 8 that have an interest in creating/designing the yearbook. Students have the opportunity to not only create the cover design but the page layouts throughout the yearbook. Students are each responsible for designing a certain amount of pages by deadlines given by the yearbook company. They have the opportunity to take pictures, conduct surveys, collect data, and promote sales for the yearbook. Students will work on the LIfetouch website specifically designed to help them with the creation of the yearbook.This gives the students an opportunity to work together as a class to complete a a final product by March.
