WEST COLUMBIA, SC – Lexington Two will offer a new opportunity in the 2022-2023 year with After School Gifted & Talented Dance Classes.
Students will gain technique in jazz and contemporary dance as well as develop performance skills. The program is offered for students in grades 3-12.
Parents/guardians and teachers can nominate students for these auditions. Parents should contact their child’s school by Thursday, September 1, 2022 to nominate their child.
Students will audition for acceptance into the program. Families will receive letters by mail letting them know if their child has been accepted into the program.
Classes will meet once a week, October through April, and there will be a performance showcase in the spring.
There will be no charge for the dance classes, but families will be responsible for the cost of their child’s costume for the year-end spring showcase performance.
Dance classes for 3rd-6th grade students will meet in the dance classroom at Saluda River Academy for the Arts. Kayla Jennings is the teacher.
Dance classes for 7th-12th grade students will meet in the dance classroom at Busbee Creative Arts Academy. Emily Mims is the teacher.
Students in these classes will also have the option of participating in the Lexington Two Dance & Theatre Showcase in April, which will be hosted by one of the two high schools in the district.
