Principal's Message

PRMS Families,
We are nearing the midpoint of the 2024-2025 school year! We are proud of the achievements of our scholars and staff thus far in the school year. We have shown growth in our School Report Card overall rating, made academic progress in ELA and Math, and have growth in all areas of School Climate! We had students recognized as State Fair art show winners and our school was awarded the Arts Enhancement Program grant again this year and are excited about the extended opportunities for these students.
We enjoyed the great experiments and hands-on enrichment at our Math and Science night with physics students from CIU, and representatives from the Governor’s School for Math and Science, as well as Trio. Upcoming we will have our Winter Fine Arts Night on December 10, 6:00-7:30 pm and Award’s Day on January 10, 2025. Students will begin their mid-year MAP tests next week and check for their progress from fall based on the individual goals they made. Ask your student about their MAP goals and progress.
Did you know:
Students who take four years of arts and music classes score an average of over 150 points higher on the SAT than students who take only one-half year or less.
Low-income students are highly engaged in the arts are twice as likely to graduate college as their peers with no arts education.
We love our fine arts programs at PRMS and hope to see you at the Lexington Two Performing Arts Center for our Winter Fine Arts Night!
