Seventh grade Honors Art students took a field study to the Columbia Museum of Art and the SC State House on Friday, April 24, 2026. At the museum students learned how artists use symbolism and the elements of art to communicate messages about identity and created their own abstract self-portraits. While visiting the state house students not only learned about the history of our state, they also learned the stories behind the state house's iconic architecture and art collection featuring portraits of many famous South Carolinians.
